His name is Oliver Queen, and he is SUPER cute! He is the Green Arrow and he became the Green Arrow, because he’s tired of living in the shadows. He wants to be a light in the darkness for Star City so that he can keep his family and his city safe from the dangers of Damien Darhk and his equally evil wife, Ruve Adams. Since the beginning of the series, Oliver Queen’s ex-girlfriend and almost enemy, Laurel Lance, has now joined his team as her sister, Sarah’s replacement as Black Canary. Also added to the original team Arrow made up of Green Arrow, John Diggle/Spartan, and Felicity Smoak, is Thea Queen, aka Speedy, whose code name came from the nickname big brother, Oliver, gave her when they were very little. Every once in a while, they also have Felicity’s assistant, Curtis Holt, and Thea’s true love, Roy Harper/Arsenal on their team, though not in this recent episode, unfortunately. Furthermore, they also have Barry Allen and his team for assistance every once in a while.
In the last episode, we officially learned that Malcolm Merlin knows about Oliver’s secret son, William, and that he chose to use him as leverage and revenge for Oliver cutting off his hand, giving the ring to Nyssa al Ghul, who ultimately tried to destroy it. We can only assume that now that Oliver knows about William and that he’s not telling anyone else about him that it’s going to come back as major problems between Oliver and Felicity and Oliver and Thea, especially now that Thea has had a glimpse of his secret by discovering that their mother wrote a 1 million dollar check to a young girl who never cashed it. Oh and there goes the knife to the heart! Felicity’s mother telling her that she and Oliver have the kind of relationship that doesn’t require lying and that some day he’s going to be a great daddy! Gosh! For a superhero show, this show sure can break a heart. Ooh! Now Thea has learned more about Oliver than he’s willing to share. She’s uncovered his secret and they’re having a beautiful heart to heart moment that they wouldn’t have had before this season. Thea would have been pissed about this secret, but now she’s being wise for him and telling him that the safest thing for everyone is to accept William’s mother’s wishes by not telling anyone that he is his father. Better than the heart to heart moment, Oliver even thanks her for the advice she gave him.
Oliver and Lance are too cute together! It’s like the father son relationship neither of them really get to have. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder what Oliver and Laurel would have been like if they had stayed together. I mean, I totally love Oliver and Felicity together, but sometimes I also wish that Oliver and Laurel would have ended up together. On that same thought though, Oliver and Laurel have this really great relationship that can only from friends who were once lovers. I would say it’s like a brother sister relationship, but that’s a bit weird since they were once lovers. Either way though, the Lance and Queen families definitely have combined family dynamic that can’t be broken, no matter how many times they lie and cheat.
I have to admit, I really love the dynamic Oliver and Ruve Adams in this mayoral race. I’m not a huge fan of politics, in fact, I can’t stand them! However, when it comes to the politics of Star City, there’s never dull moment, which actually makes it a whole lot more exciting than the American politics of our world. I mean, for real, if we could somehow have the excitement of Star City without the dangers that Star City citizens actually have to face.
Oh my gosh! Curtis’ gift to Felicity, and Oliver, for the engagement party was SO AMAZING! I can’t even right now! Ugh!
Ah! What!? How did I not see that coming!? Damien brought William to live with him and we learn this by seeing him introduce William to his daughter!? My heart can’t take this right now!? I just… I just can’t deal! If something happens to William, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it! Oliver has lost so many people already! I really hope that the truth about William’s father can come to light without messing things up between Oliver and Felicity and that his mother can come into the picture without either of them being killed so that Thea can be the aunt she’s always wanted to be and so that Oliver, Felicity, William, and his mother can somehow live in harmony together.
