The Flash

Believe it or not, I have a LOT of obsessions and many of them reach far beyond the realm of Pretty Little Liars. In fact, even though I seem to be more obsessed with Pretty Little Liars than any other show, it’s actually not my favorite show. I’m obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, because it gives me a nearly unsolvable mystery to keep my brain busy. My favorite shows are actually those involving heroes and vigilantes, such as: “Once Upon a Time,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” and all those crime scene shows.” Therefore, I’ve decided that I really need to broaden the horizons of this Obsessive Girl Blog, so that people will stop assuming it’s only about Pretty Little Liars. So, in addition to discussing Pretty Little Liars, music, the occasional movie, and the newly added “Once Upon A Time,” I’m also going to try to start writing about the DC Comics’ shows as well. Today, I shall start by writing about “The Flash.”

Goodness! Where should I start on “The Flash?” I’ll be honest with you when I say the main reason I started watching “The Flash” was because Danielle Panabaker, aka Caitlyn Snow/Killer Frost, has always been one of my favorite actresses. I continued watching “The Flash,” because it’s a great story though, and also because I can’t very well watch “Arrow” without watching the “The Flash,” and now “Legends of Tomorrow.” Anyway, I do watch these super hero/vigilante shows for the girly reasons. That meaning, I think Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon are cute and adorkably awkward and funny! There’s also Ronnie Raymond and Eddie Thawne, Jay Garrick, and Wally West who are super cute and also dark and broody, which certainly helps the show appeal to a girl like me who absolutely loves doomed romance and all the other “chick flick” clichés. More importantly than thinking the male leads are attractive though, I watch “The Flash” because it’s interesting and super cool! I watch “The Flash” because I like watching badass superheroes triumph over evil and that is why the episode, “Escape from Earth-2” from February 16 has left me just frustrated enough to want more.

I mean, come on! In the last episode, we were left knowing that Barry/The Flash had been captured by zoom and that Ronnie 2, though evil, was killed AGAIN! Then, in this episode, we’re left pondering who the random dude in the 3rd cell is and what he’s trying to communicate to Jesse Wells and Barry. I can’t help but wonder if maybe, his message of “Jay” and nod to “Jay Garrick” is supposed to be significant. I have to admit, my first thought was that he was trying to tell us that Jay is the real villain we should be worried about, even though that would SUCK since Caitlyn has already lost Ronnie and since Barry has already been betrayed by one of his mentors (two if you count the fact that Wells 2 betrayed him by stealing his powers, which I don’t count, since he admitted to it without being caught). Though, I’m super excited that Killer Frost helped our heroes. For a minute there, I was super skeptical that she would really help them, but then she did, and now I’m hoping that she’ll somehow come to Earth-1 to help Flash kick ass, but at the same time, I don’t really care if she comes back, if Caitlyn 1 can somehow get those awesome ice powers and be our own good Killer Frost!

Finally, um! What the Hell!? Why did Jay have to be taken, and with Zoom’s fist in his chest, just as the portal to Earth-2 was being closed? Hasn’t Caitlyn suffered enough? Please tell me Jay will come back and in one piece! Or, I mean, maybe we can just have Ronnie back again? It’s not like it’d be the first time a character from the “Arrow” and “The Flash” universe would be resurrected or, not even dead in the first place! To be honest, Robbie Amell, aka Ronnie Raymond (Stephan Amell, aka Arrow’s cousin) has always been another of my favorite actors and I’d really love to see him come back and make Caitlyn happy! I’d feel okay though if at least Jay could come back and be Caitlyn’s love. Though it’s my secret (not so secret anymore) wish that Barry and Caitlyn would get together since they’re both so smart and also so broken from losing so many loved ones! Anyway, my point is that I’d really like Jay to come back in one piece and I’d also like the random dude in the cell to be saved somehow too! I guess we’ll see what happens next week and in the weeks to come!
